a month agoWe had lunch here and even though the restaurant was busy with the after church crowd, the service was excellent, helpful and friendly. I had the shrimp salad and it was fresh and delicious. My husband's burger was tasty. There was a mistake on his order, but the staff was super quick to correct it and very apologetic. My daughter had the catfish and enjoyed it. Our server checked on us often and kept our drinks refilled. This place is a gem in Elizabethton!

3 months agoFirst time for wife and I to try Puerto Nuevo and we were impressed. With my wife from the southwest she's a good judge on Mexican cuisine and if meets her approval then it's got to be good 👍. The drinks were beautiful and flavorful, but could use just a little more "kick" to be enjoyable. We will be back even though it's a 30 mile drive for us.

4 months agoThis place was great! I stopped down there for lunch and I just had the Speedy Gonzalez lunch special, which is an enchilada and a taco and a side of either beans or rice. I got rice. All of the chips were nice and crispy and light. The bean dip was excellent and their salsa bar was outstanding! The pico de gallo was amazing! Yes, I will be back!

5 months agoThis is a whole experience and I love it. This place has it all: Salsa Bar, Booths, Tables, Guac Cart, indoor seating, outdoor seating. They are open on Sunny days, Rainy days, even amid a Snowpocalypse. The last time I was there, they sang a birthday song and had Balloon Artist! While all of those are reasons to celebrate it, I would say their service is great. Multiple check-ins from staff, never an empty glass or bowl of chips, and for the price point - it is really affordable for a family. PLUS, the bathrooms are clean!!! I love visiting this resturaunt and encourage people to check it out when nearby!

5 months agoExcellent Mexican food and great service. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Everything we ordered came out hot and tasted authentic. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was welcoming. Portions were generous and prices were fair. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to. I really like that they have a salsa bar

8 months agoHands down a fantastic place to eat. I’m not the greatest fan of Mexican food in general, but I loved it! Their presentation was 5 star. Oscar makes incredible drinks and the owner graciously came to talk with us for quite some time . What great family environment and family run business. Thanks for excellent service, food, drinks, atmosphere, and conversation . Muy amable , nos vemos pronto!

a year agoMexican Restaurants are generally the same. What sets them apart is the service, the quality of the food, and friendly staff. Puerto Nuevo is one of the best. The food was good, and the portions are huge. I suggest you share an order unless you are really hungry. The dining area is huge, very comfortable. The service was the best part of our meal. We were a large group with separate and interesting orders. Fredi took care of us like a pro.
